Before earning her Masters and Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, Dr. Mara studied at Harvard Divinity School — exploring the profound intersection of religion, healing, and medicine across Tibet, India, and China. That foundation of cross-cultural wisdom lives in every treatment she provides.
She came to acupuncture not just as a profession, but as a calling. Having witnessed firsthand how ancient systems of medicine can address what modern approaches sometimes miss, she dedicated herself to bringing this medicine home — to her neighbors, her community, and anyone who finds their way to her door in Marin County.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Mara's world revolves around her two young children and her wonderful husband. You'll find the family hunting for seashells at Bolinas Beach, picking out apples at the Saturday farmer's market, or hiking the trails of Mount Tamalpais on a sunny afternoon.
